Defense Manufacturer Network Penetration Testing Case Study

A defense manufacturer engaged Forenzy for external network penetration testing of its production environment. The objective was to identify paths an attacker could use to reach operational technology and physical security systems from the public internet.

Testing revealed that externally reachable CCTV systems were poorly configured, allowing unauthorized access from outside the corporate network. Live video feeds from a critical manufacturing plant floor were visible without proper authentication — exposing sensitive production activity and creating a direct window into physical security blind spots.

Forenzy documented proof-of-concept access paths, mapped the exposure to network segmentation and firewall misconfiguration failures, and provided prioritized remediation steps. External CCTV access was removed and verified closed on retest — restoring control over a critical plant perimeter before the exposure could be abused.
